Each month, we highlight one of the founders of an Okta Ventures portfolio company. You’ll learn more about them and how they work with Okta. This month, we’re speaking with Ivan Burazin of Daytona.

What is Daytona, and what is your mission?

Daytona is building the agent cloud: the infrastructure AI agents need to work safely and at scale. Our goal is simple: Give agents all the tools they need to execute their tasks.

What were you doing prior to Daytona that led you to this moment?

I’ve spent more than 15 years building developer tools. In 2023, Goran Draganić, Vedran Jukić, and I founded Daytona, initially focused on cloud development environments for people. We quickly realized the bigger opportunity was the infrastructure every AI agent would need to run, so we pivoted early and rebuilt Daytona around agents.

What is Daytona’s solution? What challenge does it solve?

As agents move from answering questions to doing real work, companies face two challenges at once: giving thousands of agents enough compute to work, while keeping each one secure, isolated, and controlled as they access real systems. Daytona’s agent cloud gives every agent their own secure computer to run code, use tools, and complete work. Those computers launch in milliseconds and scale CPU, GPU, memory, and storage up or down with the task, giving AI labs and enterprises the infrastructure to train, evaluate, and run agents in production.

Why did Daytona want to work with Okta?

Identity and access are becoming core parts of the agent stack. The question for enterprises is shifting from “What can the model do?” to “What can the agent touch?” Okta has spent years helping companies manage identity, permissions, and access at enterprise scale, so there is a natural strategic alignment with our approach to agent infrastructure.

How is Daytona working with Okta?

Okta Ventures invested in Daytona because we share the view that identity, permissions, and security become even more important as companies deploy more autonomous agents. In a corporate partner, we value deep domain expertise, access to enterprise customers, and honest product feedback from teams that understand the problems we are building for.

What trends do you expect to see in the AI infrastructure industry?

The next phase of AI will be about deployment, not just better models. As agents move from answering questions to doing real work, companies will start managing thousands of digital workers, each of whom needs their own secure environment, permissions, and compute resources. That will create a new infrastructure category around agent containment and on-demand compute. We’re already seeing that shift in Daytona’s growth: our revenue run rate grew 25x from January to September as agent deployments accelerated.
